Overview

The Trainer will facilitate the Company’s training curriculum in support of state- and federal-approved apprenticeship program requirements and to meet NCCER and Brinderson’s Apprenticeship standards.  The training curriculum is focused to serve craft and front-line field supervision.

Responsibilities

Training: Facilitate the Company’s training curriculum in support of state- and federal-approved apprenticeship program. Develops and organizes training manuals, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials for the Apprenticeship Program and related programs

 

Instructional Design: Plans, develops, and provides craft training. Uses multiple modalities (e.g., classroom training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, meetings, conferences, and workshops) to deliver training to craft employees.

 

Program Administration: Provide timely and accurate data on apprentices and to monitor performance against program requirements.Creates and distributes reports. Ensures accurate recordkeeping related to the program and participants. Updates site leadership on participant progression through the program. Communicates timely information to program participants. 

 

Compliance: Ensures complaince with the Brinderson and Washington State Apprenticeship Program.

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum Experience: 

  •  2+ years' experience managing an apprenticeship program and developing and delivering NCCER curriculum
  • Must exemplify high safety, ethical, and professional behaviors
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of design, development, and delivery of training and learning events
  • Good understanding of engineering, procurement, and construction terminology, concepts, and relationships in the oil and gas/petrochemical industry
  • Must be skilled in providing lectures, hands-on training as well as facilitating workshops
  • Must have demonstrated ability to act proactively and independently
  • Strong computer skills including operating knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Must have the ability to acquire and maintain a TWIC card
  • Must have the ability to complete and remain current with site-specific and 20-hour high hazard training

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Adult learning or similar curriculum preferred.
  • NCCER credentials highly preferred.
  • Mechanical knowledge (i.e., pipefitting, boilermaker, etc. experience) to credibly lead craft skills classes.
  • Refinery is preferred
