Corrpro is seeking a self-motivated and energetic Senior Accountant to join the Finance Team in Houston.

 

Position Summary

The Senior Accountant will participate in key aspects of the monthly close process and ensure accounting activities throughout the month are executed in accordance to company policy and practices.   Coordinate internal and external audit requests as key contact to ensure requests are completed by due dates and issues escalated to support an efficient and cost-effective audit. 

Responsibilities

Accounting Close

  • Perform the monthly Revenue Recognition process for a portion of the North America business unit.
  • Execute activities on close schedule and checklist to ensure internal and external deadlines are meet.
  • Prepare, review and approve journal entries in accordance with company policy.
  • Manage the company’s revenue recognition controls by conducting twice a month project reviews with regional operations management.
  • Assist project coordinators and managers with project transactions to ensure costs are properly reported.
  • Monitor, analyze, and explain actual financial performance to assist FP&A team and operations managers with monthly and ad hoc analysis.

Process Improvements

  • Analyze, design, and implement financial processes to optimize business decisions and seek ways to reduce overhead and operating expenses.

Compliance & Audits

  • Coordinate internal and external audit requests as key contact to ensure requests are completed by due dates and issues escalated to support an efficient and cost-effective audit.
  • Support Corporate US Tax team with analysis and data

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure accounting records are prepared, maintained and reported in accordance with company policy.
  • Perform account reconciliations and control reviews as required to document compliance of company policy and SOX requirements.

Qualifications

  • Masters in Accountancy or MBA, preferred
  • CPA, required
  • Must have Accounting, and Internal Control / SOX experience
  • GAAP and SEC Compliance knowledge, required
  • Must have 5 or more years of public and industry experience
  • Must have 2 or more years of solid supervisory experience
  • Hands-on experience with job costing, inventory, percentage of completion, multiple general ledgers, AR & AP, and budgets
  • ERP systems experience, required; JDE experience, a plus
  • Must have experience using Reporting Tools, this includes MS Excel,
  • Blackline skills, highly preferred
  • Must have the ability to correspond and verbally communicate in a professional manner
  • Role requires 10% travel to US locations as needed throughout the year
