Corrpro is seeking an experienced Corrosion Engineer to join the Houston Engineering team.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, this position may work independently and/or supervise lower level personnel to collect and interpret data and prepare draft reports of a variety of projects.  He / She will work independently to design CP systems for review by Senior Engineer and/or Operations Manager.  In addition, this role is required to review preliminary data, discuss objectives and expectations, and suggest appropriate engineering methods and procedures.  

Position Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Develop detailed designs as required.  
  • Apply knowledge of basic engineering principles and corrosion theory to execute projects or complete various aspects on projects
  • Provide technical supervision and technical assistance to other divisions within the company
  • Independently conduct various field tests (e.g. structure potential, soil resistivity, current requirements, etc.)
  • Organize and reduce data gathered, prepare charts and tables
  • Prepare CP designs, specifying anode type, quantity, and location; rectifier location, test station locations and other design features on prepared drawings
  • Prepare survey and design reports
  • Coordinate engineering aspects of installation process
  • Diagnose and remedy system difficulties during resurvey operations
  • Conduct post installation survey
  • Prepare final client report including service recommendations
  • Conduct interference testing and coordinate bonding with client and affected companies

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Engineering or related degree, required and EIT preferred
  • Minimum of 2-4 years professional experience
  • NACE Level II  Certification, required
  • Required Operator qualifications
  • Must have project management and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; draft reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; effectively present information to individuals or groups (management, clients, customers, general public) and respond to questions
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists and interpret various instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Strong team and internal customer service skills are a must
  • Incumbent must be able to handle multiple task simultaneously

  • Must have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and empower
  • Must be a strong communicator with the ability to take initiative and function independently
  • Must be capable of making people management decisions and comfortable in a management position
