Overview

Corrpro is looking for a qualified Class A CDL Construction Laborer to join the Medina, Ohio Construction team.  This is a full-time, long-term essential services position with full benefits.  This job includes significant overnight travel throughout the Midwest Region!

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Construction Manager, this role is responsible for installing materials for cathodic protection systems to inhibit corrosion on various structures.  

 

Primary Accountabilities:

  • Review field file with foreman and/or project manager to understand job requirements for materials and installation.
  • Install anodes, reference cells, coupons, rectifiers, conduits, wires, and other cathodic protection materials.
  • Dig using shovels, picks, hand augurs, digging bars, etc.
  • Exothermic welding of wires onto metallic structures.
  • General clean up, sweeping, collecting trash.
  • Comply with all company policies, regulatory safety regulations, and code requirements.
  • Install materials to meet job specifications and customer requirements.
  • Notify construction foreman of unanticipated field changes and suggest possible alternatives.
  • Restore jobsite to conditions found prior to beginning work.
  • Maintain continuous and profitable working relationships with customers.
  • Participate in weekly toolbox safety meetings and document equipment safety inspection audits.
  • Attend company-sponsored safety training seminars and educational programs.
  • Document deficiencies in safety practices/equipment to the construction foreman.
  • Operate and maintain company vehicles and equipment safely at all times.
  • Report vehicle and equipment maintenance requirements to construction foreman.
  • Maintain all company records and documents in strict confidence.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 0 to 2 years of cathodic protection installations experience
  • Able to effectively communicate with both customers and fellow employees.
  • Adjust to work-related demands without becoming frustrated.
  • Demonstrated conscientiousness and dependability to produce results.
  • Must be able to travel overnight 80% of the time
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures
  • Ability to perform arithmetic calculations and apply basic mathematical concepts
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

  • Frequent standing and walking required throughout the day.  Occasional climbing required. 
  • Frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching, and twisting required.   
  • Frequent shoveling is required.  
  • Frequent driving is required.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds throughout the day.
  • Ability to work outside in weather conditions near job sites with moving vehicles and mechanical operations.
  • Will be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level is usually moderate.
