Corrpro is seeking a dynamic Corrosion Technician II to add to the Corrosion Protection business function in Houston, Texas.  This is a full-time essential services position offering full benefits.

 

Corrpro, a subsidiary of Aegion Corporation, is a corrosion engineering, cathodic protection, and corrosion monitoring business for the protection and preservation of infrastructure. Responsibilities

Report to the Technical Services Supervisor, this role is responsible for planning and performing duties involved with testing, evaluation and installation of cathodic protection systems to inhibit corrosion on various structures.  He / she will work with specific objectives and instruction from senior staff on customer drawings and specifications.  

Position Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Conduct various specific test procedures to gather data for evaluation purposes
  • Gather structure-to-soil potential data, soil measurements and rectifier data
  • Sketch rectifiers, anodes, test stations, and other design features on prepared drawings
  • Assist senior staff in the preparation of survey reports and final job reports
  • Sketch physical features of installation site for subsequent detail
  • Organize and reduce data gathered, prepare charts and tables
  • Assemble data for preparation of final client report including service recommendations
  • Diagnose and recommend remedies for system difficulties observed during resurvey operations
  • Apply basic skills learned as Corrosion Tech I with increasing independence
  • Provide maintenance of field test equipment, ensure good operating condition and render minor repairs
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • NACE CP Tester Certification, required
  • NACE CP Technician, preferred
  • OSHA Training, required
  • Basic Operator Qualification, preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of cathodic protection system testing and troubleshooting experience, required
  • Strong team, internal customer service skills and problem-solving skills are a must
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Must be able to travel overnight to customer sites during the week, as well as for a few weeks at a time (when needed)
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures
  • Ability to perform arithmetic calculations and apply basic mathematical concepts
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists and interpret various instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands / Work Environment: 

  • Frequent standing and walking required throughout the day.  Occasional climbing required.  Frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching, and twisting required.    Frequent driving is required.  May be required to lift 50 pounds. 
  • In performing the duties for this job, the employee will generally work outside in weather conditions near job sites with moving vehicles and mechanical operations. Will be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level is usually moderate. Travel by automobile and airplane required.
