Overview

 

Aegion Coating Services is looking for Mechanical Assembler Technicians.  

 

Aegion Coating Services, a subsidiary of Aegion Corporation, delivers proprietary internal and external field joint coating services and equipment for new pipeline construction projects from offices in North America, the Middle East and Brazil.

  

 

 

Responsibilities

The complex designs and assemblies produced in this facility are proprietary and are completely manufactured in-house. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

 

  • Assemble designated products such as machines, partially or completely, working at a bench or on shop floor by performing the following duties:
  • Assemble equipment according to knowledge of unit being assembled or following blueprints using hand and power tools and some measuring devices.
  • Checks completed units, insuring proper alignment of parts and components and notes any need for modification.
  • Conducts or assists in final test to ensure proper operation of parts.
  • Notifies management of malfunctions.
  • Assists in trouble shooting, noting need for corrective action.
  • Grind components as necessary to meet the requirements of individual components.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

 

  • Required Education/ Experience:  High School diploma or general education degree
  • Three to five years' related experience and/or training
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Above-average skills in retaining instruction, a demonstrated ability to progressively assemble and a general knowledge of mechanical applications.
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Ability to setup and assemble pumps as normally acquired through Vo-Tech training.
  • Knowledge of shop safety practices.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance as normally acquired through in-house seminars and training.

  • The employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, talk or hear.
  • Employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and/or the ability to adjust focus.
