Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY


The Engineering Intern will be provided the opportunity to make meaningful and measurable contributions to Aegion during the internship. S/He can expect to learn more about the Company, key products and services, and the markets Aegion serves. It is often challenging work and a great opportunity to take what is learned and apply it in the business world.

 

The internship program is focused on providing the most valuable, hands-on experience possible.  Supervisors and team members will provide constructive feedback and guidance regarding performance, progress, and organizational information.

 

We anticipate 2018 internship locations to include Chesterfield, MO, Batesville, MS, Houston, TX, Tulsa, OK, Irvine, CA, and other areas of the country that Aegion and its family of companies do business in.

Below is a sampling of tasks our Engineering Interns have been involved in throughout previous internships:

  • Assisting design engineers with drawing layout and completion
  • Making drawing changes per ECRs
  • Making modifications to parts and assemblies
  • Completing Finite Element Analysis 
  • Perform technician and engineering support-related tasks to composite testing, engineering support and materials research
  • Work with epoxies in combination with carbon and glass fiber fabrics to perform quality assurance testing
  • Conduct various field tests with to gather data for evaluation purposes
  • Monitor construction activities for adherence to design specifications
  • Conduct post-installation surveys, complete interference testing and energize rectifier systems

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be currently enrolled in an Engineering program, preferably Structural, Mechanical, Civil, or Corrossion Engineering, or Construction Management at an accredited college or university
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Prefer prior internship experience, or 1 year of previous work experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Prefer SolidWorks and AutoCAD experience
  • Must be willing to learn
  • Ability to relocate to internship location a must, for students not local to a location
  • Ability to travel, as needed
