Insituform Technologies, LLC is seeking an experienced Product Engineer.


Insituform Technologies, LLC, an Aegion company, is a leading worldwide provider of cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) and other technologies and services for the rehabilitation of pipeline systems. Insituform's businesses consist of sewer, drinking water, and energy and mining pipeline rehabilitation and protection. Insituform's technologies allow its customers to avoid the extraordinary expense and extreme disruption that can result from traditional "dig and replace" methods.



Expert on polymeric composites (product development, design & manufacturing of composites). Manages project development teams. Provides technical, marketing and field support of the developed products to the various Insituform personnel and end users.



  • Be the subject matter expert on the use of polymeric composites for infrastructure rehabilitation.
  • Design, develop, prototype, commercialize, support manufacturing and field installation of infrastructure rehabilitation using innovative materials and process.
  • Manages project development teams in the development of new products. Includes market evaluation to define product requirements, establish project goals and schedule, choosing team members, sourcing vendors and suppliers, conducting lab tests to evaluate individual components of produce, conducting yard test of full scale product and conducting field tests to make necessary modifications.
  • Monitor and assist with Insituform installation and specialty products.
  • Represent Company by providing technical papers and presentations of product at trade shows, committee meetings and conferences, and customer presentations.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

  • Occasionally responsible for managing project development teams which consist of employees from other departments
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but can be extremely loud on a jobsite.

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Frequent travel.

Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Engineering from four-year college or university and a minimum of five years’ experience in polymeric composites. Preference for composites R&D experience either in industry or academia and/or experience in technical and operational support for infrastructure rehabilitation technology. Candidates with either a focus on the polymeric chemistry, composite structural mechanics or composite manufacturing (thermosets/thermoplastics) should apply.



Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical specifications, procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.



Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, algebra, and proportions to practical situations.



Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusion. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.



Computer literate – ability to work with various software packages. Ability to make rapid, accurate decisions to respond to changing site dynamics. Mechanical aptitude. Experience in marketing and sales.
