    United Pipeline Systems is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist for our facility located in Durango, CO. The machinist will provide specially designed parts and equipment to the installation crews, and customers in accordance with the specific demands of each project. The machinist will also play a large role in our innovative research and development department, while providing key solutions to the pipelining industry.

    • Read and interpret dimensioned prints and apply to manufactured parts.
    • Setup correct feeds and speeds for a variety of material types (steel, aluminum, plastic).
    • Setup and safe use of various machinery (bench grinder, belt sander, manual mill, manual lathe, drill press, CNC lathe, automatic and manual steel saws).
    • Evaluate machine shop projects to determine type of work, materials, fixturing and equipment to be used.
    • Interpret company policies as applied to employees and abide by safety regulations, standard operating procedures and quality standards.
    • Recommend and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, crew productivity and quality of product.


    • High School diploma or equivalent.
    • 5 years minimum experience in a machine shop setting.
    • Proficient in using manual machine tools; automatic and band saws, vertical mill, engine lathe, tool grinding.
    • Proficient in using micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, dial and vernier calipers.
    • Experience with safe part holding and fixturing.
    • Experience setting up and operating a two axis CNC lathe.
    • Proficient with PC and Microsoft computer software; Excel, Word, and Outlook.
    • Experience with CAD CNC programming a plus.
