    Aegion Corporation is looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to be based in Houston, Texas.

     

    The Contracts Manager serves as a primary point of contact for a full range of contract functions and responsibilities for our expanding Corrosion Protection Platform with customers primarily in the oil, gas and mining industries around the world. This position will report directly to the General Counsel, Corrosion Protection Platform and requires close collaboration across numerous departments, including operations, finance, treasury, safety, human resources, risk management and legal.

    Responsibilities

    Technical Responsibilities:

    • Draft, review and/or negotiate construction and commercial quotes, proposals, purchase orders and contracts, including master service agreements and distribution agreements.
    • Prepare and maintain form agreements, terms and conditions, information databases, etc., to be used by business personnel.
    • Train business personnel on contract provisions and form agreements, terms and conditions, contract review process, etc.
    • Interface with business personnel and clients in preparation and negotiation of contract documents.
    • Assist with securing bonds, insurance certificates and other bid-related documents.
    • Perform other functions to support the contracting process.
    • Assure compliance with company approval processes.
    • Communicate and participate in audits of contract review processes.
    • Assist in the resolution of issues with ongoing project and customer disputes, including non-payment.

    Management Responsibilities:

    • Maintains staff by orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities.
    • Accomplishes staff job results through effective people management, not limited to: coaching, counseling, and performance management; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
    • Completes operations by assigning and monitoring work; gathering resources; implementing productivity standards; resolving operations problems; maintaining reference manuals; implementing new procedures.
    • Provides quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards.
    • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications.
    • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

     

    Qualifications

    • BS/BA degree.

    • Minimum of 8-12 years related experience reviewing contracts required.

    • Recent/Current experience managing contracts team and processes required.

    • Experience in the construction and/or oil and gas industries preferred.

    • Must have strong organizational and problem-solving skills and ability to multitask and take initiative to complete tasks without constant instruction.

    • Outstanding written and verbal communication as well as time management skills.

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required.

    • Correspond and verbally communicate in a professional manner with business personnel and customers.

    • Adapt to conflicting deadlines and priorities established by company and contract deadline demands.

    • Periodic travel, less than 10%.
