  • Overview

    Insituform Technologies, LLC. is looking for an Area Controller to support our Midwest Territories. This position will be based in our head office in St.Louis, MO. 

     

    Insituform Technologies, LLC, a subsidiary of Aegion Corporation, is a leading worldwide provider of cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) and other technologies and services for the rehabilitation of pipeline systems. Insituform's businesses consist of sewer, drinking water, and energy and mining pipeline rehabilitation and protection. The company provides cost-effective solutions to remediate operational, health, regulatory and environmental problems resulting from aging and defective pipelines. Insituform's technologies allow its customers to avoid the extraordinary expense and extreme disruption that can result from traditional "dig and replace" methods. 

    Responsibilities

    • Supervise the month, quarter and year-end closing processes to ensure results are timely and accurately recorded and reported
    • Direct the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, supplemental reports and related analysis to facilitate monthly, quarterly and annual management review and decision-making
    • Manage all activities related to GL, AR, cash management, job cost, revenue recognition, expense review and taxes to ensure accurate and timely processing for the Area
    • Ensure all internal controls are in place and complied with and meet Sarbanes-Oxley compliance rules and regulations
    • Ensure timely balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis are completed for the area
    • Lead area cash management and accounts receivable/collections calls on a bi-monthly basis
    • Oversight of intercompany transactions, ensuring timely reconciliations and settlements to minimize unnecessary balance sheet exposures to intercompany balances
    • Work with Finance to develop and report on detailed analysis of material, yields, labor, productivity, overhead absorption, spending and capital investments
    • Work closely with corporate Finance, Treasury, Tax and other corporate support teams to deliver more operational insight to the business;
    • Assist Operational Finance in preparation of forecasts of business activity and financial position using backlog, sales and capacity metrics
    • Review with operations teams processes for estimating, actual vs. estimate analysis, estimate-to-complete calculations
    • Provide leadership and mentoring to staff to further the creation of a continuous learning environment and an organization that seeks excellence
    • Serve as a business partner with the operations group - deliver insightful/pertinent information the operations group needs to make informed decisions and to help grow the business
    • Looking for an individual who looks outside the basics of the job and also has a focus on process improvements

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance, or equivalent required
    • CPA or MBA preferred
    • Five to ten years accounting experience required
    • Accounting experience within the oil and gas or construction environment preferred
    • Familiarity with U.S. GAAP and current SEC rules and reporting requirements
    • Must be able to gather and merge all pertinent statistical data, use and demonstrate sound business analysis with strong spreadsheet skills using MS Excel
    • JD Edwards (JDE) or similar ERP experience highly preferred
    • Must be capable of making people management decisions and comfortable in a management position
    • Excellent internal and external customer service skills required
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work independently or in a team environment as situation necessitates
    • Position requires up to 30% travel
