    Insituform Technologies, LLC is looking for an experienced Purchasing/Inventory Specialist in our Batesville, MS location.


    Insituform Technologies, LLC, is a leading worldwide provider of cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) and other technologies and services for the rehabilitation of pipeline systems. Insituform's businesses consist of sewer, drinking water, and energy and mining pipeline rehabilitation and protection. Insituform's technologies allow its customers to avoid the extraordinary expense and extreme disruption that can result from traditional "dig and replace" methods.


    The Purchasing/Inventory Specialist will be required to perform, but not limited too, the following:


    Purchasing duties:

    • Generate requisitions and purchase orders.  Completes change orders when needed.
    • Order (parts, materials, supplies, services, or any other purchased items) as required.
    • Procure alternative replacement parts when obsolete parts are no longer available.
    • Obtain approval for timely payment of invoices
    • Resolve invoice discrepancies.
    • Partner with the tool crib staff to assure materials are properly inventoried.
    • Locate and research vendors for new and existing products.
    • Partner with maintenance and engineering staff to research and to procure maintenance and specialized parts that are not readily available.
    • Contact suppliers when necessary for expedites, or schedule decreases and or under over shipments.
    • Maintain appropriate levels of safety stock for critical parts and inventory.
    • Monitor payments to minimize monthly accruals. 

    Inventory duties:

    • Transfer materials in the system from one facility to the next.
    • Receive into stock inventory items for both facilities
    • Assist with monthly cycle counts for both facilities
    • Recommend continuous process improvements and suggestions for inventory management.
    • Obtain necessary approvals to eliminate obsolete materials.
    • Prepare monthly reports.

    Other Duties:

    • Back- up tool crib staff when necessary
    • Prepare OEE charting when necessary



    • Associate's degree; Bachelor's degree preferred.
    • 2+ years' experience in inventory, purchasing, or related experience.
    • Strong computer skills required, including experience with JD Edwards, online ordering systems, and Excel (intermediate functions like pivot tables, vlookups, etc).
    • Excellent written and verbal communication.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to use math and reasoning skills to solve problems. 
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
    • Detail-focused with a strong level of work quality.
    • Ability to travel, if needed.

    • Work Environment: Regularly works near moving mechanical parts.  Frequently works in high, precarious places.  Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.  Must deal with propane flame tanks, scissors and hand tools. Travel by automobile or airplane may be required.
