    Schultz Industrial Services, Inc. is looking for an experienced Planner/ Scheduler to work at the Shell Martinez, CA Refinery.


    Schultz Industrial Services, Inc., a subsidiary of Aegion Corporation, is a full service engineering, procurement, construction, maintenance and turnaround company serving the western United States. Concentrating primarily on energy projects in the private sector, Brinderson serves a broad range of industries, including upstream oil and gas production, gas processing, oil refining, terminals and pipelines, chemicals, renewable energy, and industrial manufacturing.


    • Develop and maintain all detail levels of schedules with consideration to dependencies, durations and updating the status of project schedules
    • Identify critical activities within an equipment classification, discipline or specialty relative to interfacing with other disciplines
    • Report schedule deviations for an assigned equipment classification, discipline or specialty and recommend corrective action
    • Continually monitor critical path and prepare schedule deviation reports
    • Develop alternatives (“What-Ifs”, as necessary, to optimize the project schedule
    • Assess the impact(s) of design, discovery or construction schedule slippages, accelerations or delays
    • Report the schedule status to all levels of project company management as well as the client
    • Ensure that the schedule is properly resource loaded and that manpower conflicts are highlighted and quickly resolved
    • Validate forecast information as required
    • Update progress prepare reports per WBS
    • Perform quantity tracking and evaluations as required
    • Develop work-around solutions as required
    • Interface with client personnel, vendors and other contractors to plan execution of work


    • Must have field refinery experience and P6 knowledge
    • At least five years of planning and/or field execution experience relative the petrochemical or related industries
    • Practical knowledge of Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) as related to planning and schedule control.
    • Practical knowledge of common planning and scheduling terms, techniques and tools
    • Affiliation with an accredited professional society for planning and scheduling professionals is preferred
    • Proficient with industry standard planning software including Primavera® Enterprise and Microsoft® Project
    • Proficient with common analytical computer software including spreadsheet and database programs
    • Analytically proficient with ability to recognize trends and variances
    • Diversified knowledge of all project phases including engineering, procurement, construction and maintenance
    • Administrative knowledge of organizational procedures, systems and work processes
    • Practical understanding of the engineering development process and associated deliverables
    • Practical understanding of construction techniques, terms, processes and deliverable
    • Practical background in QA/QC process and procedures relative to all project phases
    • Ability to comprehend and apply technical drawings, design documents, specifications and procedures
    • Practical knowledge of construction equipment and construction processes and limitations
    • Practical knowledge of refinery process systems and hazards
    • Practical knowledge of procurement processes and procedures
