  • Overview

    At this level of Project Controls, the individual will be responsible for and lead overall planning and schedule development, analyses and reporting efforts for various projects. Candidate will also be responsible for preparing and presenting cost reports, developing and implementing procedures needed for cost, and perform monitoring and control functions. This position requires advance knowledge of planning and scheduling protocols and must be well versed in project controls softwares such as P6 and Microsoft Project.

    Responsibilities

    • Understand inter-discipline constraints or interfaces that define activity sequence
    • Develop quantities for undefined scope assumptions, or verifies quantities provided by others
    • Report anticipated cost overages or other unsatisfactory cost elements
    • Report schedule deviations for an assigned discipline and recommend corrective action
    • Plan and coordinate schedule interfaces with vendors and subcontractors
    • Develop and implement requirements for cost recording, reporting and analyzing standards, programs, and reports
    • Prepare specific budgets in accordance with prescribed standards and procedures
    • Perform routine quantity takeoffs or quantity estimating using parameters for all commodities within a discipline or other specialty
    • Participate in the development and maintenance of the work breakdown structure, interfacing with Procurement, Engineering, and Finance departments
    • Perform cost estimating, analysis, and control activities
    • Customize Project Control systems to meet specific project requirements
    • Analyze quantity and cost information and predicts changes and trends
    • Direct others within Project group as required
    • Analyze cost trends and identifies potential problem areas
    • Gather and prepare actual job hour, work force, revenue, and cost data for the project cost reports
    • Participate in developing and presenting training classes on designated projects and on-the-job training programs
    • Effectively oversee several Project Controls groups

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Related Sciences
    • 10+ years in both cost control and scheduling experience
    • Knowledge of supervision, personnel administration, and training of technical and non-technical personnel
