  • Overview

    Schultz Industrial Services, Inc., a subsidiary of the Aegion Corporation is looking for experienced Senior Planners for the Valero Benicia facility in Benicia, California.

    Responsibilities

    1. Develop and maintain all detail levels of schedules with consideration to dependencies, durations and updating the status of project schedules
    2. Identify critical activities within an equipment classification, discipline or specialty relative to interfacing with other disciplines
    3. Report schedule deviations for an assigned equipment classification, discipline or specialty and recommend corrective action
    4. Continually monitor critical path and prepare schedule deviation reports
    5. Develop alternatives (“What-Ifs”, as necessary, to optimize the project schedule
    6. Assess the impact(s) of design, discovery or construction schedule slippages, accelerations or delays
    7. Report the schedule status to all levels of project company management as well as the client
    8. Ensure that the schedule is properly resource loaded and that manpower conflicts are highlighted and quickly resolved
    9. Validate forecast information as required
    10. Update progress prepare reports per WBS
    11. Perform quantity tracking and evaluations as required
    12. Develop work-around solutions as required
    13. Interface with client personnel, vendors and other contractors to plan execution of work

     

    Qualifications

    1. At least five years of planning and/or field execution experience relative the petrochemical or related industries
    2. Practical knowledge of Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) as related to planning and schedule control.
    3. Practical knowledge of common planning and scheduling terms, techniques and tools
    4. Affiliation with an accredited professional society for planning and scheduling professionals is preferred
    5. Proficient with industry standard planning software including Primavera® Enterprise and Microsoft® Project
    6. Proficient with common analytical computer software including spreadsheet and database programs
    7. Analytically proficient with ability to recognize trends and variances
    8. Diversified knowledge of all project phases including engineering, procurement, construction and maintenance
    9. Administrative knowledge of organizational procedures, systems and work processes
    10. Practical understanding of the engineering development process and associated deliverables
    11. Practical understanding of construction techniques, terms, processes and deliverables
    12. Practical background in EH&S and QA/QC process and procedures relative to all project phases
    13. Ability to comprehend and apply technical drawings, design documents, specifications and procedures
    14. Practical knowledge of construction equipment and construction processes and limitations
    15. Practical knowledge of refinery process systems and hazards
    16. Practical knowledge of procurement processes and procedures
