    Responsibilities

    The Human Resources Generalist II is a critical role responsible for performing human resources services to support assigned client group(s) or geographic regions within the Corrosion Protection Platform of Aegion Corporation. This role reports directly to a Director or Sr. Manager Human Resources for the Platform.  The successful candidate will partner closely with senior HR management and business leaders to deliver responsibilities in the areas of compensation and benefits, employee relations, employee development, talent acquisition, performance management, onboarding and policy administration.

     

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Partners with business leaders to address and recommend solutions to human resources situations and to execute HR actions and imperatives that support assigned clients’ business plans and goals.
    • Actively engage with managers, recruitment and talent management to develop and support strategies for acquiring, developing and retaining the right talent for organizational success.
    • Provide Human Resources services including, but not limited to: workforce planning, compensation and benefits, onboarding, employee relations, employee development, performance management, coaching, progressive discipline, workplace investigations, leave management, off-boarding and recruitment and selection.
    • Coaches, counsels and guides managers and/or employees on potential employee disciplinary actions, HR issues, actions involving company policies and processes, and varied employment laws and government regulations.
    • Recommend and review HR actions to include offer letters, employment agreements, employee status changes, merit and promotion increases, disciplinary action records and miscellaneous employment documents.
    • Conduct workplace investigations and provide recommendations for resolution of employee complaints or employee relations issues.
    • Maintain an informed and proactive posture in all matters pertaining to trends in HR policy and practice including ongoing monitoring of industry, legislative and regulatory environment and the potential impact.
    • As a member of the Human Resources team, support the development, compliance, implementation and maintenance of company policies and programs;
    • Establish and maintain collaborative and positive working relationships with managers and employees by being accessible for consultation, actively participating in manager or employee meetings and utilizing effective interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.
    • Work together with Human Resources Corporate teams to implement company practices related to onboarding, new hire orientation, compensation programs, benefits enrollment, talent management, initiatives and HRIS and Payroll implementation.
    • Conduct new hire orientation and facilitate management and employee training related to leadership, employment laws and regulations and broad HR initiatives.
    • Additional duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 3 years of Human Resources experience, preferably in a HR Generalist capacity.
    • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology or related field preferred
    • Experience working with all functional areas of Human Resources.
    • Solid understanding of employment standards and human rights legislation; experience with California employment laws desirable
    • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and HR system; able to generate spreadsheets, presentations and data reporting
    • Proven strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving abilities.
    • Requires travel to regional locations across the United States.
