    Position Summary


    The Regional Engineering Manager is responsible for leading one of three regional engineering departments for Corrpro US and fulfilling the established goals and objectives including achievement of financial performance for Engineering Services.


    Reporting Status

    The Regional Engineering Manager reports to Area Operations Manager


    Supervisor Responsibility


    Direct reports may include Sr. Engineering Staff within the respective region.

    • Define and implement areas of responsibility for subordinates
    • Influence the organization and staffing of engineering functions
    • Review and approve senior staff time and expenses
    • Authorize expenditures consistent with company policy
    • Guide and assist subordinates in the application of generally accepted engineering principles, designs, specifications, survey techniques, data analysis and reporting
    • Advise on Engineering customer proposals and reports
    • Instruct and advise employees regarding company policies and procedures
    • Complete ongoing employee performance evaluations


    Position Responsibilities & Accountabilities

    • Responsible for direction of engineering and technical services for an assigned Region or Area.
    • Establish and maintain high level of customer service
    • Develop and implement standard operating procedures for all engineering and technical staff
    • Provide data to the Regional Operations Manager in the preparation of annual engineering budgets


    Engineering Administration

    • Confer and cooperate with sales and construction personnel to satisfy customer needs and meet expectations
    • Interact with customers on technical issues requiring specialized skills or data interpretation
    • Provide necessary tools for providing specifications for materials and testing used for construction estimates


    Project Administration

    • Organize and structure engineering resources to obtain most effective utilization and meet commitments to customers
    • Advise on proposals with engineering staff
    • Define engineering project objectives, and establish appropriate methods and procedures
    • Direct engineering activities to successfully complete project on time and within budget
    • Periodically visit jobsites when needed for successful execution of the work
    • Review engineering reports, and discuss and implement revisions with staff to ensure that engineering documents are technically correct and professionally presented
    • Manage select technology development projects


    Business Development

    • Support sales for technical presentations to customers
    • Approve pricing, scheduling and personnel commitments for all engineering proposals
    • Prepare and transmit engineering proposals for major engineering projects and those requiring specialized skills


    Additional Responsibilities

    • Participate in periodic sales meetings and new product seminars
    • Implement and monitor compliance with company safety program for engineering personnel
    • Assist in the collection efforts for delinquent customer accounts related to engineering projects.
    • Participate in field engineering on unique projects or as dictated by engineering backlog
    • Confer with customer personnel, visit facilities and conduct meetings as necessary
    • Develop capital expense requests for Regional Operations Manager to include in annual budget
    • Other duties as assigned


    Qualification Requirements:

    • Education and/or Experience: S. in Engineering, Engineering Technology, approved Science or related degree.  A working knowledge of cathodic protection work with supervisory experience. Professional Engineer (P.E.) License preferred.
    • Language Skills: Able to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, industry journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations; able to write professional reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; and capable of effectively presenting information to individuals or groups (management, clients, customers, general public) and responding to questions.
    • Able to perform business and financial data analysis to assist with the achievement of divisional performance metrics
    • Reasoning Skills: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists and interpret various instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
